The story of i-Tank Waldschütz GmbH began in 2004 on a greenfield site with a clear vision: to create a petrol station that offers more than just refuelling. Klaus Waldschütz senior laid the foundation stone with the construction of the petrol station, which established itself as a model business in the region.  In addition to various fuels, a popular bistro and a comprehensive range of petrol stations, he added a modern car wash - taking the concept of a petrol station to a new level. Today, his daughter Theresia Mühlpointner and her husband Max run the station with the same standards of quality and innovation. While Klaus Waldschütz Sr. is retiring from day-to-day business for health reasons, Theresia and her husband are introducing new ideas that will secure an even stronger future for the site. In doing so, they are sticking to the principles that have been important from the very beginning: high-quality service, maximum customer satisfaction and a range that offers the right solution for every mobility need.

Car wash as the centrepiece: quality and technology in perfect harmony

From the very beginning, car washing played a central role in the concept of i-Tank Waldschütz GmbH. For the opening in October 2004, a high-performance WashTec gantry car wash and three self-service wash bays were installed - two for cars and one especially for lorries. The lorry wash bay in particular closed a large gap, as there are often only a few washing facilities for lorry drivers. The decision in favour of WashTec was made not only because of the technical performance of the systems, but above all because of the excellent service and close cooperation.

The Mühlpointners chose the washing chemicals just as carefully: AUWA, a name that stands for high efficiency and quality in the industry. For the operators of i-Tank Waldschütz GmbH, the interaction between the washing system and the washing chemicals is of crucial importance, as this is the only way to achieve the perfect cleaning result. Thanks to the advice and support provided by the AUWA and WashTec contacts - who are reliably on hand to assist with any further development - customers can be sure that they will always receive the best care for their vehicle. "The interplay between technology and chemistry is the key for us," emphasises Max Mühlpointner. "When it comes to the quality of our car washes, we make no compromises."

Change and growth: A site with a future

Since its beginnings, i-Tank Waldschütz GmbH has developed into a versatile service centre. In 2010, the bistro kitchen was expanded to meet the demand for freshly prepared food. A year later, the cooperation with the ADAC (German Car Association) brought useful additional services such as snow chain hire and the sale of video tolls, which particularly benefits international customers. Modernisation continued in 2013: a photovoltaic system and an additional 50,000-litre diesel tank were installed to reduce energy consumption and increase operating performance. Electromobility and sustainable mobility also came into focus early on: in 2014, the petrol station became the 59th Tesla station in Germany when six Tesla charging points were installed. Today, the site comprises 9 charging points that can be used for all electric cars from other manufacturers, a hydrogen refuelling station and refurbished petrol pumps, which were completely replaced in 2021.

State-of-the-art technology and a high standard of cleanliness are still the basis of the Mühlpointner family's services today. Sponge rubber brushes and advanced high technology from WashTec clean the vehicles gently and thoroughly, while special paint sealants ensure a protective shine. The technology behind the car wash and the constant striving for perfection fascinate the team anew every day. Customers not only appreciate the high quality, but also the familiar atmosphere.
